Montreal is likely Canada's champion for scofflaw motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. The old Montreal joke is that you can tell the tourists from locals because only a tourist would stand in a crosswalk and expect vehicles to stop!
I've decided to have some fun and document some of the blatant scofflaws that inhabit our fair city.
You can help by submitting your photos or pictures of anything that smacks of a blatant disregard of the law and the safety of others.
Everyone is fair game, drivers, pedestrians and cyclists!
I've just installed my GoPro Camera as a dash cam just because it can double as such and when I come to red light , I switch it on to capture red light scofflaws. You'd be surprised as to how many vehicles go through, it is a much higher percentage than you could ever imagine.
This
one corner on Côte Saint Luc Road and Grand Boulevard is the gold mine
for scofflaws. Since I pass through this intersection daily.
This very first entry is a double jewel of two vehicles in tandem entering
the intersection after the light has turned red. Like two yolks in an
egg!!! No pretending that the light was yellow, it clearly had turned red before both the taxi and the car entered!
There is a Montreal phenomenon whereby drivers INCLUDING bus drivers believe that if you enter an intersection on any part of a yellow light, you are fine, even if the light turns red on you in the middle!
Yup, a city bus blowing a red ar a high rate of speed!
......And yes, another double-yolk!
